I’m 88% done with "The Bear and the Dragon" by Tom Clancy, and I would dearly like to know what the hell happened to the editor because there are significant chunks of this book that could be removed and the story would still make perfect sense.

The Goodreads read shelf RSS feed was introducing too much cruft into my site, so I’ve disabled that IFTTT/web hooks recipe in favor of using an indieweb micropub client to post books with reading statuses. I’m still keeping the book updates recipe though. If I find a way to get the read shelf feed to post the way I’d like it to then I’ll re-enable so I can continue to post that sort of thing from my phone.

Apparently you can no longer get a full list of your checkins from Foursquare while browsing on something other than your phone, so I’m waiting on an export so I can hopefully get checkin IDs for consumption and importing into my site. Hopefully they’ll give me a json export.

I’m not saying blind people shouldn’t attend to hygene. But claiming that sighted people will assume that all of us are smelly because they met one of us who happens to be is soft bigotry because it assumes that sighted people can’t treat us as individuals.
